How To Join
We are so happy to hear you are interested in joining our club, and are excited to learn the gentle art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu! Before following the instructions below, please visit and fill out the following form: CSUN BJJ required registration form. This ensures you are on our roster sheet, and will help us keep track of memberships, contact info, rashguard sizes, etc. Thank you for your cooperation and interest, we can't wait to meet you!
Registration Process
To Attend Tryouts
- Login to Risk-X with your CSUN credentials.
- Forms are to be filled out on Risk X
- All forms are required to attend any sport clubs tryout or practice.
- Waiver
- Emergency Contact Card
- Code of Conduct (Sports Clubs and California)
- Academic Release
- PREP (Done once in a college career)
- The forms are updated live time, so you can fill them out at the door of tryouts/practice if you haven't yet, and you will still be cleared to participate!
Additional Registration Steps
To be a fully Rostered Participant, you will need to complete the following paperwork.
- Medical Paperwork
- New Participant/Returners Medical Paperwork
- Physical/EKG
- Baseline Concussion Test
- Sports Clubs 101 - done once in a college career.
Medical Paperwork: Returning vs. New Players
Medical Paperwork Forms:
- Print and fill out properly with blue or black pen and personally turn it into the Athletic Training Clinic.
- You may NOT turn in paperwork for another student.
- Medical paperwork must be turned in before taking a baseline concussion test, scheduling a physical, and use of Sports Clubs facilities.
Baseline Concussion Testing
- Baseline concussion tests are conducted in the Athletic Training clinic.
- About 30-40 minutes.
- No appointment, walk-in basis, but you may have to wait if other students are waiting ahead of you.
Physicals
- Students have two options for Physicals:
- They may go to their own physician or an Urgent Care office (recommended):
- Need to take physical form included in the New Participant paperwork packet.
- Must get an EKG and bring a printed copy of the EKG results, along with the Physical form provided to you in the New participant paperwork packet, completed by a physician.
- Or they may go to the Klotz Student Health Center
- Schedule an appointment with the Athletic Training staff in person.
- Appointments for physicals cannot be made by calling the clinic, and cannot be made by calling Klotz either.

Paying your Membership
Total Membership cost: $160 per semester
For the first two weeks of training (9/9 - 9/18), there is a weekly trial fee of $20 ($40 for both).
If you decide to stay and join the team (given you have already completed the required paperwork), we take off your fees from the total cost, so all you have to do is pay the remainder!
There are two ways to pay for your trial/membership:
Pay Cash, in person to one of our officers.
- There could be a wait time if multiple students are ahead of you, not recommended since it can hold up training time.
Pay Online, through our cashnet portal. (Recommended)
- Pay with card. Fast, on your own time, forward receipt to jiujitsu@csunas.org
